Growing research shows our daily habits significantly influence our health, quality of life, lifespan, and healthcare expenses. Recognizing that prevention is crucial for maintaining wellness and controlling medical costs has sparked greater focus on health education and promotion across diverse healthcare environments including clinics, gyms, organizations, and educational institutions. Health science experts are educated to guide people toward enhanced living standards through adopting beneficial habits. The School of Health Sciences provides undergraduate programs designed to develop professionals who can: 1) serve as fitness and rehabilitation experts in preventive care, 2) work as health educators and wellness advocates in community settings, 3) specialize in substance abuse prevention, intervention, and recovery programs, and 4) manage operations in healthcare facilities. Graduate programs include Health Service Administration (MSA), Exercise Physiology (MS), Public Health (MPH), Health Administration (MHA), and Doctor of Health Administration (DHA). Central Michigan University's exercise science kinesiology program provides excellent preparation for advanced studies in occupational therapy, physician assistant programs, physical therapy, or chiropractic medicine, blending biological sciences, movement studies, and chemical principles.
