Degrees offered
Bachelor's Degree
Unlike the BS in applied mathematics or the BS in physics with a mathematical physics focus, this program offers an integrated, unified education that equally emphasizes both mathematics and physics. Essentially, the rigorous curriculum mirrors a combination of the core requirements from both disciplines, substituting the Physics Laboratory sequence with a single semester of advanced lab work in the fourth year. The Departments of Physics and Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics collaboratively oversee the program. Faculty advisors can be drawn from either department to guide students.
