The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department faculty are deeply committed to ensuring undergraduate education equips students to become effective professional engineers. Consequently, undergraduate instruction focuses heavily on applying engineering principles to solve real-world problems. Following a comprehensive core curriculum in civil engineering, students select a specialized technical sequence in their preferred area, such as structural (S), geotechnical (G), or environmental (E) engineering; construction management (C); or pre-architecture (P). Additionally, every civil engineering student takes part in a collaborative senior capstone design course, offering hands-on experience in addressing multidisciplinary civil engineering challenges.
