For years, our design department has proudly educated aspiring graphic designers, equipping them with skills for dynamic and rewarding careers in the field. To keep pace with the fast-changing creative industry and job landscape, we've broadened our curriculum. Starting Fall 2020, our BFA in Design program features specialized tracks in Interface Design (previously called graphic design), 3D Design (modeling and animation), Motion Design (including motion graphics, video editing, AR and VR), and Marketing (continuing our strong partnership with the campus Marketing Department).
While maintaining our BA in Art programs for Graphic Design (Plan IV) and Graphic Design & Marketing (Plan V) students completing their degrees, we've introduced innovative new courses like Infographics and Data Visualization, Digital Fabrication, Storyboarding, and Virtual Reality design.
We've additionally launched a streamlined BA in Design Studies, a low-unit major that enables students to more readily pursue dual degrees in studio art, art history, or other campus disciplines.
Our curriculum empowers students to thrive in today's design industry across both traditional and digital platforms.
