Explore visual design with an emphasis on paper-based creations, including publications, posters, games, comics, books, magazines, and beyond. DAP learners will cultivate essential conceptual and technical abilities to craft objects and experiences across diverse formats and platforms.
Hands-on coursework will sharpen your skills in creative problem-solving, technological innovation, and devising visual solutions for pressing challenges (such as climate action, equity concerns, identity representation, education access, water scarcity, regional wildfires, and data comprehension). Complementary studies in history, theory, and academia will establish cultural contexts to enrich research and practical implementation.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Design Investigation: Learners will acquire design historical knowledge, implement design principles, and create iterative approaches to problem resolution while producing digital visual content.
Methodology: Participants will combine various media types, technical methods, prototyping techniques, and inventive approaches to address challenges in screen-based projects, user interactions, interfaces, printed materials, and narratives.
Cultural Framework: Students will assimilate comprehensive understanding of design evolution, current methodologies, and societal matters.
