The Department of Design equips future visual communicators with skills for diverse creative careers spanning animation, graphic design, illustration, photography, and related fields. Learners develop the ability to tackle intricate visual challenges and convey stories through multiple media formats and technological platforms. Those earning the Bachelor of Arts degree gain essential training in design methodology, theoretical principles, working techniques, and practical applications. This program particularly benefits those planning graduate design studies, pursuing interdisciplinary design paths, applying design fundamentals to other fields, or exploring design for personal growth.
Admission to the Design BA program is competitive, requiring departmental approval through a portfolio evaluation and interview. Prospective students must declare pre-major status, fulfill prerequisite coursework, and submit an application with a digital portfolio. Applications are due in June.
