Pursuing a Theatre Arts major offers both an exhilarating creative journey and a versatile liberal arts education. The comprehensive curriculum prepares students for diverse career paths within California's expansive entertainment sector. Graduates have found success in live performance, design, film and television, corporate training, media, radio, public relations, advertising, business, legal fields, and education. Theatre education cultivates artistic abilities while fostering deep understanding of human relationships and societal issues. Each academic year, the Theatre Arts Department presents three to four mainstage productions along with multiple lab shows, some of which are student-directed and designed. Students also gain performance experience through outreach programs at schools, libraries, and community venues.

CSUSB's Theatre Arts Department focuses on nurturing versatile artists with strong ethical foundations and professional competencies. All majors take foundational courses in performance, production, and theatre history before specializing in one of five concentrations:

Acting
Design/Technical
Drama Education
Musical Theatre
