The Master of Science program offers two specializations: Geology and Geophysics. These tracks aim to: (1) equip graduates with professional skills needed for careers in geological industries and government organizations, (2) prepare outstanding students with the academic foundation and research capabilities required for successful PhD studies, and (3) deliver comprehensive knowledge, hands-on lab instruction, and core research competencies for those aspiring to teach geology at community colleges. Candidates with robust mathematics and physics backgrounds pursuing geophysics-related research and careers should select the Geophysics track, while others should opt for the Geology specialization.
