The Art and Design Department provides an academic program tailored for students seeking a well-rounded arts education within a liberal arts framework. Budding artists enjoy ample avenues to showcase their creativity and secure career opportunities post-graduation. Learners can investigate various artistic disciplines before selecting the specialization that aligns with their passions and abilities.
The Bachelor of Arts program caters to students pursuing: (1) a liberal arts education with an art focus, (2) in-depth art studies, (3) graduate school preparation in arts, (4) training for academic and professional careers, and/or (5) credentials for art instruction.
All Art majors must complete foundational lower and upper division coursework. Students then choose elective units from one or more departmental concentrations to fulfill their B.A. requirements in their selected field. The program also offers extracurricular experiences to help students refine professional competencies and enhance their career prospects.
