The Master of Science in Nutritional Science program provides an interdisciplinary approach to nutrition studies, enabling students to build specialized skills aligned with their professional goals.
This program's objective is to deliver an advanced nutrition curriculum that combines graduate education with research, cultivating skilled professionals equipped to address nutritional challenges in California, across the country, and globally.
Students can choose from four focus areas: Nutritional Science, Latino Health and Nutrition, Food Science, and Dietetic Internship, with diverse elective options covering topics like exercise nutrition, endocrinology, molecular genetics, aging and nutrition, and nutrition-focused media strategies.
Research plays a central role in student growth, with MS candidates gaining expertise in designing, conducting, and assessing research while learning to apply evidence-based findings to professional practice. Our nutrition faculty actively pursue research initiatives, offering numerous opportunities for student involvement in collaborative projects.
