The Geology Department provides an extensive curriculum paired with tailored thesis work for students pursuing a Master of Science degree. Specialization options span multiple geological fields such as environmental geochemistry, hydrogeology, marine geology, petrology, paleontology, petroleum geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, field geology, geophysics, and paleoclimatology.

Three letters of recommendation to be sent to by US postal mail or email directly to the Graduate Advisor.
Official transcripts of all of your college work sent to the University.
Unofficial transcripts of all of your college work to the Department.

In addition to the above course work requirements, students are required to submit three letters of recommendation prior to entry.

Have earned a grade point average of at least 2.5 on the last degree completed by the candidate or have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 (A=4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.
