The Master of Arts in Equity, Education & Social Justice (EESJ) program equips students with comprehensive theory-to-practice training to address systemic inequities and injustices in urban and global settings. With a focus on critical educational approaches like critical theory and pedagogy, this interdisciplinary degree offers the analytical depth needed to understand education's societal role and drive meaningful change. EESJ coursework explores education through historical, social, and political lenses, applicable across all educational levels worldwide. The program blends rigorous theoretical study with hands-on application through semester-long projects, viewing education expansively to include K-12, higher education, community programs, adult learning, and other educational spaces.
Alumni are equipped for careers in nonprofits, K-12 and higher education institutions, youth initiatives, community groups, and various public/private sector roles. The program also provides strong preparation for doctoral studies.
