The Master of Education - Principalship program (MEd) prepares educators aiming to advance into K-12 school principal roles. Aligned with the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards, this curriculum emphasizes boosting student success through effective school management and instructional leadership.
SVSU's CAEP-accredited M.Ed in Principalship develops future K-12 administrators while meeting National Educational Leadership Professional (NELP) Standards. The program strengthens student outcomes through ethical leadership, organizational management, and teaching excellence.
Grounded in contemporary research and proven methodologies, the curriculum bridges academic concepts with practical application. Students enhance their skills through case studies, field work, problem-solving exercises, and reflective activities that connect classroom learning with authentic educational environments. The program integrates modern technology, data interpretation, and evidence-based decision making across all coursework (33 credits).
Most students complete this degree in two years.
