The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts with a Performance: Acting concentration offers comprehensive training in various theatrical disciplines while focusing on acting development. This program cultivates versatile abilities through coursework covering classical and modern approaches to Acting, Technical Production, Dramatic Theory, Script Analysis, Stage Direction, and Dramatic Writing.

Specialized performance training encompasses Scene Study, Vocal Technique, Physical Theater, Commedia dell'arte, One-Person Shows, Verse Performance, and On-Camera Acting.

Participants gain hands-on experience through Theatre Threshold (a student-operated production company) and California Repertory Company (a professional-style theater), where they can direct, design, perform, and contribute to all production aspects.

Acting candidates participate in yearly student film auditions and graduate equipped for multiple career paths, including advanced acting programs, stage and screen performance, voice acting for interactive media, and adaptable skills for various creative professions.

Have earned a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA or B' grade according to the CSULB GPA scale.
Fulfill CSULB's English Language Requirement
Have completed at least 1 year of high school mathematics. Applicants to STEM majors must have at least 3 years of high school mathematics.
CSULB has waived the SAT/ACT requirement for all first-time Freshmen applicants. However, if you have taken the test or are planning on doing so, you may have met our English language requirement if you scored at least 550 on the SAT Evidence based Reading & Writing section or ACT 22 or higher in the English section.
