Cinema and screen studies explores the evolution, analysis, and critique of film alongside emerging and early screen media, featuring specialized tracks in screenwriting and digital film production. This interdisciplinary program connects moving image studies with cutting-edge fields like cognitive science, computer science, and various humanities, arts, and social sciences disciplines.
Tailor your academic journey using the course learning agreement to pursue specialized interests—from performance and design to digital animation, media psychology, educational media literacy, or the intersection of visual technologies with information and natural sciences. Complete your capstone requirement by presenting a public screening of your film/video work or hosting a discussion of your research/screenplay. Oswego's program frequently participates in—and occasionally organizes—the annual SUNY Film Festival.
