Program outlines for each specialization can be found on the Department's website or obtained from their office. Students are encouraged to meet with Department faculty advisors when selecting an English program and throughout their degree journey. The English Department can connect students with appropriate faculty advisors. All English faculty members' office hours are displayed near the Department office, with informational materials indicating which professors typically advise for particular specializations. ENGL 100B, a foundational general education course, doesn't count toward any English specialization. Certain specializations may allow or mandate courses from other departments, and with faculty advisor approval, may incorporate non-English courses. Since some courses fulfill requirements across multiple specializations, students can frequently switch paths without substantial credit loss toward degree completion. Many students also pursue double majors within two English specializations.
