Our program focuses on literary history, cross-disciplinary study, and analytical thinking to foster original creative work. Located within a top-ranked art and design institution, innovation and artistic expression drive all aspects of our curriculum. Through workshops spanning fiction, poetry, theater, screenplays, graphic storytelling, and improvisation, students cultivate their unique creative voices. They blend visual arts with written expression while developing their thesis projects. CCA's Writing and Literature program merges genre-specific workshops, flexible electives, and specialized courses covering theory, visual arts, and both classic and contemporary literary methods. The curriculum prepares students to refine their writing into professional-quality publications, supported by personalized mentorship and connections to a vibrant national literary network.
Graduates leave our Writing and Literature program with versatile abilities in analysis, verbal expression, and written communication. Alumni establish careers in journalism, literary organizations, independent publishing, and marketing firms. Numerous graduates continue their education in MFA programs, teaching, legal studies, and information science.
