The Asian American Studies Bachelor of Arts program takes an interdisciplinary approach to examining the varied histories, cultures, communities, and modern-day experiences within Asian America. This program aims to help students gain deeper insights into the multifaceted nature of Asian American life while equipping them to thrive in diverse societies and global contexts. Emphasizing communication and critical thinking skills, the curriculum supports students aiming for graduate studies in conventional fields such as History, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, and Literature, as well as interdisciplinary areas like Ethnic Studies and Women's Studies, plus professional domains including Law, Business Administration, and Social Work. The program's coursework and comprehensive liberal arts foundation also prepare graduates for careers in education, public policy, community organizing, media, social services, and human resources. Program admission requires finishing G.E. Foundation courses, and students must maintain a C average in all major requirements and electives to remain in good standing.
