The Master of Science in Counseling program holds approval from the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), fulfilling all educational prerequisites for students pursuing licensure as either Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC). Additionally, it carries national accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). This program focuses on developing clinicians capable of addressing community needs through evidence-based counseling approaches, whether short-term or extended, while cultivating professional identities as both counselors and marriage/family therapists. With a strong multicultural foundation, the curriculum prepares future counselors to be attuned to diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious traditions, varied lifestyles, and unique individual and family circumstances.
