The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology offers an extensive exploration of physical activity and human motion. Learners examine movement throughout life from multiple perspectives, including mechanical, physiological, psychological, sociocultural, behavioral, instructional, and professional viewpoints. Specialized focus areas enhance foundational knowledge, preparing students for graduate studies or careers in fields like allied health, exercise science, gerokinesiology, physical education, recreation, sports studies, strength training, senior fitness, physical education instruction, and athletic coaching.
The Kinesiology Department promotes research and application of human movement throughout life within our evolving, diverse society. Both undergraduate and graduate programs provide specialized study options in Exercise Science, Gerokinesiology, Pre-Allied Health, Recreation, Sports Studies, Strength Training, and Teacher Education. Students can also pursue an undergraduate Minor in Kinesiology. The Master of Science in Athletic Training is an intensive professional program designed to train future athletic trainers (AT).
