Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies program hail from varied backgrounds while sharing a deep fascination with exploring the regions and cultures of Latin America. Program graduates develop the ability to approach challenges through multiple academic lenses, cultivate analytical thinking, and generate innovative solutions to matters concerning Latin America's connections with the United States and global community. They build a robust scholarly base, can participate in sophisticated discourse, appreciate cultural diversity, and maintain an international perspective. Graduates have established careers in public service, media, global legal practice, cultural preservation, primary and secondary education, academia, hospitality, community services, and advanced research in related disciplines. As our immediate geographical neighbor, Latin America represents a growing area with tremendous possibilities, encompassing nations from the compact Dominican Republic to the expansive, resource-abundant Brazil, which exceeds the landmass of the contiguous United States.
