The mission of the School of Nursing is to offer quality nursing education to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. This education prepares nurses with clinical decision-making skills based on evidence-based practice (EBP). Additionally, the School seeks to establish an academic foundation for Advanced Practice Nursing and Doctoral preparation. As life-long learners, graduates are prepared to deliver holistic health care to diverse populations across health care settings. The Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) requires a minimum of 120 semester units, and the nursing curriculum sequence covers five semesters.
An understanding of the principles underlying the techniques, procedures, and activities required while caring for clients with common health conditions
A knowledge of health assessment, communication skills, and noninvasive nursing procedures in the care of elderly patients in the health care setting
The nurse's role as a teacher in the health care setting
Admission to the program is a two-step process: (1) admission to the university and (2) admission to the nursing major.
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadline: Fall admission: School of Nursing applications are available February 1-28; university applications are available October 1. Spring admission: School of Nursing applications are available July 1-31; university applications are available August 1.
