Mathematics and its related disciplines serve two crucial functions in our society. Firstly, it stands as an independent field of study, while simultaneously acting as a vital instrument for articulating and comprehending concepts across science, engineering, and a growing array of other domains. Consequently, career prospects for mathematicians have been broadening in recent times. The department's curriculum aims to cultivate both proficiency in and a deeper appreciation for these dual aspects.
Given the diverse professional and academic opportunities available to skilled mathematicians, the department provides an extensive selection of elective courses within the mathematics program. Through careful course selection, students enjoy significant flexibility to align their studies with personal interests. It's advisable for students to seek guidance from departmental advisors to identify the most suitable electives for their intended career trajectories.
