Mathematics serves as a method for formulating and addressing challenges through the fusion of logical reasoning and creative insight, while uncovering underlying patterns and structures. It's a discipline that bridges the conceptual realm of thought with quantitative and qualitative models across natural and social sciences. At Hopkins, students benefit from travel funding, a supportive community, and chances to publish in the Western Hemisphere's longest-running mathematics journal.
Through dual enrollment in courses counting toward both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees, high-achieving undergraduates can earn both qualifications within their four-year program. Prospective BA/MA candidates must submit the regular graduate application by April 30 of their junior year, including official transcripts and a personal statement. The program doesn't require GRE scores and waives the application fee. Applicants also need one mathematics faculty member to provide a recommendation letter.
