Undergraduate criminology programs combine interdisciplinary theoretical and practical coursework. The law enforcement track prepares students for roles in federal, state, and local agencies, as well as private sector security careers. Participants in this program can expect career advancement opportunities and enhanced qualifications for diverse criminal justice positions. This online degree completion option is available only to current/former government employees and their spouses across all levels of government. Operating for seven years, classes are conducted at the Fresno County Sheriffs Training Room in central Fresno.
The Criminology program equips students for entry-level criminal justice positions and advanced studies, including law school. Undergraduate coursework blends interdisciplinary theory with practical applications. The corrections specialization targets careers in probation, parole, and institutional corrections. The law enforcement concentration focuses on public and private sector policing careers. The victimology option prepares students for roles in domestic violence services, crisis counseling, and victim advocacy programs across government and community organizations. All three tracks - corrections, law enforcement, and victimology - require internship components. The Forensic Behavioral Sciences major applies psychological, anthropological, and linguistic principles to criminal justice, while also serving traditional law enforcement career paths.
