The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry is designed for students aiming for careers in biochemical or chemical research, as well as those entering healthcare fields like medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and other clinical professions. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry delivers four challenging, top-tier degree options (B.A. Chemistry, B.S. Chemistry, B.S. Biochemistry and M.S. Chemistry) that equip graduates for research careers, industrial positions, and teaching roles, while also serving as strong preparation for Ph.D. programs and professional schools in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and osteopathic medicine. Students benefit from practical experience with advanced equipment, faculty-led research projects, industry-based lab courses, participation in the Chemistry Honors program, and outreach initiatives that bring science education to local schools and communities.

Have graduated from high school (earning a high school diploma), have earned a Certificate of General Education Development (GED) or have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE)
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadlines: Fall - July 1 and Spring - November 1.
