The theatre arts and dance programs, including majors and minors, aim to equip students with essential skills in theatre and dance for those planning to pursue graduate studies, teaching careers, or professional performance arts. With guidance from advisors and departmental approval, students can choose specialized tracks in Acting, Design/Technology, or Theatre Education, or they may select the General track for a broader curriculum. The Dance program provides in-depth training in performance, choreography, and theory.
Through the theatre arts and dance majors, you can refine your abilities in acting, directing, dance training, research, performance, choreography, playwriting, children's theatre, technical production, scenic design, costume design, sound design, stage management, lighting design, history, literature, and teaching. Graduates leave the program well-prepared to pursue teaching credentials, advanced degrees, or professional opportunities in the field.
