At its core, political science examines power dynamics in society - who holds influence, why they possess it, and how they exercise it. The field also explores how individuals can engage with governance by developing their understanding of and involvement in political systems at local, national, and global levels.
Undergraduate students pursuing their degree can choose from diverse course offerings including American government studies, regional governance, social movement politics, global affairs, legal studies, and political research methods.
Our graduates have built successful careers as legal professionals, legislative assistants, government officials, international organization staff, academics, and some have achieved elected positions. They contribute to communities across California's Central Valley, in state capitals, in the nation's capital, and internationally.
Have graduated from high school (earning a high school diploma), have earned a Certificate of General Education Development (GED) or have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE)
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadlines: Fall - July 1 and Spring - November 1.
