The MFA Design program serves as a dynamic platform for exploration, practical creation, and imaginative design approaches. You'll push boundaries using both innovative technologies and time-honored craftsmanship methods. Concentrating on graphic design, product design, and user experience design, you'll develop functional prototypes that redefine material applications.

Our program offers distinctive pathways for students to bridge academic design theory with real-world industry demands in the Bay Area. Graduates frequently secure positions at leading tech firms like Adobe, Apple, Meta, Google, and IDEO. Many pursue careers in product innovation and R&D departments, while others launch independent studios such as Backer Kit, Sensoree, Anxy Magazine, and Gold Collective.
