The Brown RISD Master of Arts in Design Engineering (MADE) Program offers an immersive 11-month residential curriculum. Each cohort maintains an intimate size of approximately 20 students. The program emphasizes hands-on learning through studio courses, complemented by elective options from both Brown and RISD. What sets MADE apart is its dual-institution approach, allowing students to engage with the distinct cultures and facilities of both schools. The program aims to cultivate graduates who can operate skillfully and thoughtfully across disciplines, embracing diverse viewpoints while bridging design and engineering to holistically address human, environmental, and societal considerations.
Graduates of non-U.S. colleges and universities who have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree may apply for admission to the Brown University Graduate School.
