The Visual Art Department provides Honors students with dedicated studio space. Developing a consistent studio routine from the first semester creates a strong base for future achievements. Participation in the Honors program equals two graduation credits, though these don't apply toward Visual Art concentration requirements. Weekly Honors Seminar sessions in the initial semester focus on readings, discussions, and group critiques. Second-semester students pursue individual Honors projects with faculty guidance while attending occasional group critique sessions. Regular meetings with Honors advisors are required both semesters. The Department strongly recommends that Honors students attend all visiting artist lectures. The program also includes two New York excursions (one per semester) to museums and galleries, offering valuable educational opportunities for Honors participants.
