This program aims to connect undergraduate and graduate studies, though each degree's academic criteria must be fulfilled independently. Applicants must submit their request to join the combined program by the third week of their seventh semester. Up to two undergraduate courses may count toward the Master's degree requirements. Graduate students must complete a minimum of six semester course units. A culminating project is mandatory. The Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies is globally recognized for its outstanding research and instruction focused on the Portuguese-speaking world - a diverse region spanning eight nations across four continents (including Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, and East Timor), along with established immigrant populations in the United States.
