Their goal is to equip both current educators and professionals transitioning into teaching with the skills needed to effectively instruct diverse student populations in urban environments. This master's program trains participants to teach in various educational contexts while addressing the needs of learners with different abilities. Beyond helping you obtain New York State Certification, the curriculum develops both theoretical understanding and hands-on competencies to better serve students. Alumni have secured teaching positions in school districts across the local region and the entire country. The special education graduate program trains educators for roles in schools and other learning environments that support individuals with disabilities and their families. Participants gain experience in diverse educational settings, preparing them for work in urban schools with cultural and linguistic diversity. The program requires 30 to 45 credits, with specific requirements and course sequence tailored to each candidate's prior teaching background.
