The Master of Arts in mental health counseling (MHC) equips graduates for careers across healthcare facilities, community organizations, and private clinics. Combining demanding coursework with hands-on clinical internships, the program teaches modern therapeutic techniques for evaluation and intervention. Students explore three core counseling methodologies: psychodynamic, experiential-humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. Cohorts progress through the 21-month curriculum as collaborative learning groups, with emphasis on treating adult and family clients. Following graduation, candidates qualify for licensure exams after completing 3,000 supervised practice hours, enabling independent counseling practice.
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent) from an international institution, and relevant professional or volunteer experience.
Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Applicants who earned a bachelor’s degree outside the United States need to submit a course-by-course international transcript evaluation.
