The graduate program in sociology seeks to prepare students by teaching core sociological principles, theories, and methodologies while developing expertise in specialized fields. The department's faculty are dedicated to excellence in both research and teaching. Students benefit from numerous funding options and research participation opportunities. Additionally, second-year graduate students may gain valuable experience by teaching undergraduate courses when departmental needs arise. Currently, the Sociology Department provides an MS degree program, typically enrolling eight to twelve new master's students each fall.
