Developmental psychology examines how humans evolve throughout their entire lives. As a branch of psychology, it particularly investigates transformations in thinking patterns, emotional responses, and behavioral tendencies. These transformations occur across three key areas: biological, cognitive, and social spheres. Our department is fortunate to have experts specializing in each developmental domain. Drs. Higley and Lundwall concentrate on biological and psychological development factors, while Drs. Flom and Luke specialize in cognitive and perceptual growth. Additionally, Drs. Hardy, Jensen, South, and Warren research social and personality development. Our departmental studies mainly concentrate on developmental stages from early childhood through young adulthood.
