This program prepares students for careers as public school educators. To earn this degree, candidates must fulfill licensing criteria set by the Utah State Office of Education. Students admitted to the program after December 16, 2019 must earn at least a C in all required courses for their teaching major or minor. Those in the teacher preparation program need to maintain a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA for program continuation and student teaching eligibility. Full admission and continuation policies for education majors and minors are outlined in the Educator Preparation Program Requirements section of the Undergraduate Catalog.
This degree program equips future educators for public school teaching positions. Graduation requires completion of all Utah State Office of Education licensing standards.
