Brigham Young University's Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) program provides former BYU students who have taken an extended break from their studies and cannot return to campus with a chance to complete their degree remotely. To qualify, applicants need to have earned at least 30 credit hours as enrolled day students at BYU's Provo campus. Participants must follow the BYU Honor Code and obtain yearly ecclesiastical endorsements. Refer to Admission Requirements and About BYU Ecclesiastical Endorsements for details. Current BYU students with under 90 credits (excluding exam credit) are ineligible for this program.
Maintain 27 credit hours of campus residency.
Complete at least 10 credit hours in the chosen emphasis area after BGS program admission.
Thirty of the required 120 credit hours must be upper-division (300-level or higher) courses.
Students must achieve minimum 2.0 GPAs in BYU coursework, cumulative studies, and their emphasis area.
All degree requirements must be fulfilled within an eight-year timeframe.
