The BFA program is a specialized degree designed to cultivate highly skilled artists and prepare them for advanced art studies. This dynamic program fosters close collaboration between students and faculty across diverse artistic fields. Participants gain mastery in traditional art forms while being encouraged to innovate and establish well-conceived artistic perspectives. The department's flexible framework enables students to explore various disciplines as they evolve as artists, allowing for either specialized focus or interdisciplinary approaches. Available disciplines encompass Ceramics, Figure Studies, New Media, Painting/Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. State-of-the-art classrooms, labs, and studios complement access to an art museum, with small class sizes ensuring personalized mentorship.
Program Objectives:
Art Historical Understanding
Through on-campus and external learning opportunities, students will analyze historical and contemporary art, positioning their own work within this broader framework.
BFA Culminating Requirements
Students will fulfill all BFA program requirements, including the final thesis project and graduation portfolio, showcasing developed artistic proficiency through their culminating work.
