The Visual Arts Department provides instruction across various disciplines including painting, sketching, sculpting, performance art, digital arts, cinema, videography, photographic arts, and art historical studies (encompassing film and video analysis). Earning a bachelor's degree here equips students with comprehensive liberal arts knowledge while preparing them for professional paths as creative practitioners, art scholars, cinematographers, video creators, photographic artists, digital media specialists, art analysts, or for advanced studies in art history and visual arts. The program also develops foundational competencies for careers in education, museum curation, television production, and commercial sectors involving film, photography, and digital media. The studio arts concentration focuses on cultivating conceptually grounded, prolific artists. Foundational courses introduce diverse visual arts concepts and basic techniques, with skill refinement occurring in advanced coursework as students deepen their understanding of theoretical frameworks. The program features classes in sketching, oil/acrylic painting, three-dimensional art, live performance, photographic techniques, digital media production, and extensive art historical and critical studies.
