The East Asian Studies program provides comprehensive exposure to diverse historical viewpoints and modern issues concerning East Asian societies and cultures. Through courses offering instruction in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean, the program builds essential skills for careers in government, academia, international affairs, global business, media, commerce, finance, industry, law, and diplomacy in today's world. Aimed at expanding, enriching, and connecting students' knowledge of East Asia, the curriculum incorporates expertise from Brandeis faculty across social sciences like anthropology, economics, history, and political science, as well as humanities and creative arts including visual arts, music, and religious studies.
