The high school biology education program equips you for the Illinois Professional Educator's License in Secondary Education. Starting in your first year, you'll engage in classroom field experiences, with more opportunities during sophomore and junior years. These progressively prepare you for your culminating student teaching experience in senior year. Throughout this journey, Bradley faculty and supervising teachers serve as invaluable mentors. You'll also collaborate closely with the biology department to build expertise in biological sciences and related fields.
Our teacher education program holds accreditation from both the Illinois State Board of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, along with membership in the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. The secondary education program has earned national recognition from leading educational organizations including the National Council for the Social Studies, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, National Science Teachers Association, and National Council of Teachers of English.
