The Genetics and Genomics Graduate Program educates students in utilizing both hypothesis-driven genetic methods and discovery-focused genomic approaches for biomedical research. Additionally, it prepares them to engage as contributing scientists who can effectively share concepts, analyze biomedical studies critically, and guide others in academic pursuits. To achieve these objectives, we've established a comprehensive curriculum featuring standard classes, discussion groups, lecture programs, and a research-based qualifying assessment for doctoral candidates. Coursework is typically finished within the initial two academic years. Students begin each September as part of the Program in Biomedical Sciences (PiBS) PhD cohort, selecting their specialization by the conclusion of year one. The outlined academic structure represents the integrated curriculum.
