The interdisciplinary PhD program specializing in genetics and genome sciences is overseen by the College of Natural Science. This program aims to: (1) equip students for autonomous research and academic instruction, (2) foster comprehension of genetics' broad scope and importance while building expertise in allied fields like molecular biology and biochemistry, and (3) empower students to remain at the cutting edge of this rapidly evolving discipline. While students can focus on specific aspects of genetics and genome sciences, they must also develop working knowledge across all core areas. Participants may optionally pursue a dual major alongside their genetics and genome sciences doctorate requirements.
