The Biology Ph.D. program provides in-depth, advanced training in the Biological Sciences. Students gain comprehensive knowledge across key research domains through diverse coursework and specialized seminars. The curriculum promotes cross-disciplinary studies in allied scientific fields. Emphasis is placed on developing both research capabilities and teaching skills. The program fosters collaborative research and study across multiple disciplines including Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics. Interdisciplinary initiatives involving Biology faculty encompass the Center for Biotechnology, Center for Computational Genetics and Genomics, the Institute for Computational Molecular Science, and the Institute for Genomics and Evolutionary Medicine. Qualification Requirements

Master's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A master's degree is not required.

Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A baccalaureate degree in Biology or another science field is required.

Statement of Goals: In approximately 500 to 1,000 words, describe your interest in Temple's program, research goals, and academic and research achievements.

Standardized Test Scores:
GRE: Required, with a combined minimum score of 305 on the quantitative and verbal reasoning sections.

Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:
