This two-year program consists of ten courses (30 credits), with students needing to complete at least one course in three out of the four Political Science disciplines: American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Politics, and Political Theory. Each semester, students enroll in three courses.
Participants may select two courses from different departments. To fulfill program requirements, students must pass a comprehensive exam covering two subfields. Alternatively, those opting for a thesis only need to complete eight courses and are exempt from the comprehensive exam. Another option is Advanced Directive Study (ADS), where students work with a faculty advisor to develop a final paper project based on previous seminar work, serving as an alternative to both the thesis and comprehensive exam.
