The Film Studies Program guides students in discovering their unique passions within cinema. Many participants dive into film production, starting with basic short film creation in Filmmaking I before advancing to more complex narratives in Filmmaking II. During Filmmaking III, students independently write, shoot, and edit their own short films, culminating in a campus-wide screening event. Courses in cinematography and Adobe Premiere editing equip aspiring filmmakers with professional-level skills.

Graduates of the Film Studies program enter diverse career paths. Alumni work as documentary creators, producers, or editing specialists, while others find success in film marketing and advertising. Some transition into television or media production roles, with occasional opportunities in museum videography. Many gain admission to prestigious graduate programs at institutions like USC, UCLA, and NYU, while others continue filmmaking as a passionate pursuit alongside other academic interests.

The program offers internship opportunities to help students explore media career options. BC's Film Studies Program connects students with the Eagle Internship program, providing financial support for unpaid film internships. Through the Jacques Salmanowitz grants, students create international documentaries focused on social justice, showcased annually at the BC Arts Festival.
