The Department's main graduate program leads to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics, with admission and funding provided under the assumption students will pursue this terminal degree. Following two years in the Ph.D. track, students have the option to obtain a Master of Science (M.S.) in Statistics. This master's degree requires completing 36 credit hours: a 12-hour statistics core curriculum, a 3-hour consulting-teaching practicum, 21 hours of electives, and successful completion of an oral defense. No foreign language proficiency is needed for this degree.
