The Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Teaching (PhD) is an on-campus program designed to cultivate scholars capable of delivering exceptional, sustained leadership in higher education within the curriculum and teaching discipline. Participants acquire skills in research methodologies, teacher training, professional education, and all essential competencies for success as academic faculty.
This program mandates 70 credit hours of study, comprising 58 hours in curriculum and instruction coursework alongside a 12-hour focused cognate, culminating in a dissertation defense.
While full-time enrollment is advised due to the intensive nature of the program, part-time options are available. Full-time candidates generally finish within four years, whereas part-time completion timelines may vary.
