Physics serves as the foundation of all sciences, exploring everything from vast galaxies to tiny subatomic particles, with uses spanning from astronomical research to medical advancements. Essentially, it focuses on understanding the fundamental laws that govern how our world operates. Whether examining quarks, electrical phenomena, or cosmic mysteries like black holes, physics permeates every aspect of our existence. Ball State's physics program equips students with diverse, rewarding career paths through comprehensive training. Students develop theoretical expertise and practical problem-solving skills while engaging in hands-on research alongside professors early in their studies. The curriculum begins with a shared foundational coursework before allowing specialization in one of three tracks: general physics, applied physics, or medical physics.
